These images were taken in two of the great deserts of the American Southwest: the Sonoran of Arizona, the the Mojave of California and  Nevada. Far from being an empty void, the region is full of complex life inhabiting some of most exquisite desert habitats on the planet. All are beautifully adapted to living in a places with little water.
